CEPRO

Centre For Peace Promotion In Educational Institutions.

At CEPRO, we create and utilize resources and opportunities to resolve crisis and conflicts in the educational institutions in order to sustain peace in the education sector in particular and the nation in general.

Our organization has been confronting the matter of School Vices headlong in order to achieve her set objectives. Apparently, these vices are the root cause of the many challenges facing all Stakeholders in the Educational sector; To this effect, several Conferences, Seminars, Training Programmes as well as other School Peace Projects have been held in conjunction with various categories of Stakeholders since the year 2005.

FROM CEPRO CENTRE COORDINATOR’S DESK

TOWARDS PEACE IN OUR EDUCATION SECTOR: YOU HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY

Anyone who was an undergraduate of any Nigerian University in the 70’s must have witnessed the peaceful atmosphere of the campus in those days. The focus of Tertiary Institutions in those days was the development of the total man; integrity was more emphasized than mere acquisition of certificates. Today, the story is completely different. The campus is definitely not what it used to be some years ago. The situation of our campuses, especially the public tertiary institutions, leaves so much to be desired; cultism grows unabated, immorality is the order of the day; scandals, sexual harassment and mismanagement are very rampant.

It is an obvious fact that efforts are being made at various levels to eradicate vices from our campuses. Various governments and their agencies are doing their best possible, managers of educational institutions at all levels, individually and collectively, are trying to proffer solutions to the problems. The truth of the matter is that all those efforts, have so far, yielded very little results. It now looks as if the challenges of campus vices have defied all known solutions. There is a way out now! The solution is in sight when all stakeholders in the education sector begin to collaborate and we harness our efforts, instead of dissipating our efforts individually. This is what the Centre for Peace Promotion in Educational Institutions (CEPRO) is all about. The Centre for Peace Promotion in Educational Institutions (CEPRO) is a Federal Government registered faith-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The Centre is non-profit making; it has no religious affiliation, neither does it have any political leaning whatsoever. CEPRO harnesses the efforts of all stakeholders in the education sector to achieve school peace which further enhances the promotion of national peace. The Centre is currently coordinating some divinely inspired Campus Peace Projects like Student Olive Support Project (SOS); No Examination Malpractice in my School (NEMALS); Another Chance of Rising (ANCHOR) Rehabilitation. CEPRO also runs Summits, Conferences, Training and Retreats for various categories of stakeholders in the education sector like Teachers, Students, Parents and Policy Makers. The School Peace Projects and Programmes of CEPRO are beginning to yield good results; the positive impact will soon be seen in the education sector of our Nation. You also can be part of this new move by supporting the vision. Thank you.
