Project Overview

Indigent conditions are very common among students at all levels of education in Nigeria; the major factor responsible for it is poverty which is prevalent in the Nigerian society.
The Student Olive Support Project (S.O.S) is a divine intervention for the less privileged students called HIPO Group (i.e. Harassed; Indigent; Physically Challenged; Orphans)
The Student Olive Support Project was given birth to at the 2008 Campus Peace Stakeholders’ Summit on Oct. 1, 2008. Consequent upon the resolve of participants at the Summit to establish a forum that will offer support to weak students in the campuses, the SOS Team is now in place offering support services to the needy.

GOALS OF S.O.S

  1. Finding solutions to the pressure the less privileged students are subjected to on campus by assessing their potentials as well as their abilities, in order to suggest possible skills, and other assistance that will enable them cope with their academic, moral and social pursuits.
  2.  Exploring ways, means and devices through which CEPRO and other Campus Peace Partners (individuals, families, corporate bodies and government agencies) can assist in alleviating the sufferings of those less privileged students and to identify various resources that can be deployed to achieve this.
  3. Planning and adopting lasting programmes that are adequately pragmatic and sustainable to alleviate the condition of the orphans, indigent students and the physically challenged.
